Why We Built StickyShell
Taking down a quick phone number, grocery item, or meeting note shouldn't feel like operating heavy machinery.
Think about the last time you needed to write something down quickly while on a phone call or in an online meeting. You clicked a modern note app, and what happened? A splash screen loaded for eight seconds. A pop-up asked you to log into your account. Another banner begged you to upgrade to an enterprise team plan. And when you finally got a cursor, your simple idea was buried under twelve toolbars.
Somewhere along the way, software lost the simplicity of a sticky note on your monitor.
"Great software shouldn't demand your attention. It should silently amplify your focus, hold your thoughts securely, and disappear the moment you are done."
We built StickyShell with one singular purpose: to give you an ultra-fast, floating scratchpad that lives effortlessly on your Windows desktop. It is always one hotkey away (Win + Alt + S), always stays pinned above your other windows if you wish, and never uploads a single letter of your thoughts to the internet.
The Three Promises of StickyShell
Our design contract with every person who uses our software.
1. Total Simplicity
No endless submenus or bloated feature lists. You open it, you write, you check things off, and you get back to your real life. Clean, uncluttered, and human.
2. 100% Private
No accounts. No telemetry. No servers watching what you write. Every single note lives and stays exclusively on your own computer.
3. Fast & Lightweight
Starts in milliseconds. Uses less memory than a single browser tab. Never bogs down your laptop fan, drains your battery, or interrupts your workflow.
